The “On and Off the Field Impact Scholarship” was established by Chaz Roberts Law to honor outstanding high school football players who demonstrate grit and greatness both athletically and academically. This scholarship is designed to support students who exhibit studiousness, steadfastness, and a commitment to their academics, as we believe they are the individuals who will make a difference in their community.
Scholarship Details
Award Name: Chaz Roberts Law “On and Off the Field Impact Scholarship”
Purpose: To recognize and support high school football club members and players who also excel in the classroom.
Eligibility:
• High school football club members currently in their junior or senior year
• Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrates academic excellence and a strong understanding of why they are deserving of this award.
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must send an email to [email protected]
by January 3, 2025. The email MUST include:
The below personal details (typed into the body of the email):
• Full Name
• School Name
• Grade (Junior or Senior)
• Football Club Position (Player or Trainer)
• Phone Number (yours or a parents; where you want to be contacted about the scholarship)
• Home Address
• Email Address
The following mandatory documents (attached in pdf format to the email):
• A PDF copy of your high school transcript
• Your one-page essay about why you are a deserving recipient of this scholarship and how this scholarship will benefit your future endeavors.
Application Deadline
• Deadline: January 3rd, 2025
• Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
Review/Consideration Period:
Completed applications from students meeting all eligibility requirements and received before deadline will be reviewed and considered by a panel of judges, including but not limited to:
• one representative from Chaz Roberts Law
• one representative from Courtesy Auto Group
• one representative from Lafayette Kiwanis
Judges will determine two finalists for the award, who will be contacted and invited to the annual Player of the Year winners banquet (date TBD; sometime in January or February 2025). The scholarship winner will be announced at the banquet. The scholarship monies will be rewarded to the winner within 90 days of the announcement.
